​For decades, rumors have persisted of the “Doomsday Machine”, a Soviet system developed during the cold war that detonates cobalt-jacketed hydrogen bombs if doomsday sensors detect a nuclear attack on Russian soil. Lacking hard evidence, the rumors have been widely regarded as fiction, until now.

In CounterForces, you compete in an existential battle for control of the Doomsday Device. During the game, each player commands an elite team of soldiers, specialists, and technicians to wage battles, seize critical assets, hack security codes, and ultimately capture the Doomsday Device.

It is your call to disarm the weapon and remove the threat forever, or detonate it to reduce the world to a superheated pile of smoldering ash.
GAMEPLAY BASIC TRAINING
  • Each player begins with their Hackers, Hazmat Teams, Soldiers and Mechanized Units in their Sector's' Base and is alotted 6 Action Points per turn to make their moves.
  • Each Unit has unique abilities and can be flipped over for more functions.
    • For instance your Combat Engineers can build bridges and set up Fuel Depots (denoted by the icons on the tokens)
    • Drones can perform targeted strikes and set off EMPS while VTOLS can rescue POWs and launch sortie attacks to hit multiple targets
  • As you complete mission objectives and capture enemy units you earn Readiness Points (RP) which unlock new aspects of the Battle Grid and available ordenance. You must aquire 9 RP to attempt taking control of the Doomsday Device.
  • Engaging enemies of a lower strength imedaitely captures them and sends them to your POW Camp. Taking on units of the same strength triggers Battle Mode. Some units can only be taken out by Drone Strikes.
